Miroslav Beinhauer will play Phill Niblock’s Harmonius (2022) on “the world’s only playable sixth-tone harmonium” in the sixth concert in the pssst series, curated by OOO Association as part of Trenčín 2026.
This evening he will feature two compositions “framing his interest in the instrument and the study of its possibilities”, one by Phill and one by the Czech composer, Alois Hába, for whom this particular sixth-tone harmonium was made. This is an opportunity to hear the instrument, designed in the 1920s, and usually housed in the Czech National Museum, as it travels to Trenčín especially for this evening’s event.
Program:
Alois Hába: III. Adagio, Op. 37, for Sixth-Tone Harmonium (1928) – 4 min
Phill Niblock: Harmonius for Sixth-Tone Harmonium (2022) – 60 min
