Hidden Noise: Sonitus Occulti at Villa Lontana, Rome | 22 May–19 September 2026

An exhibition bringing together a constellation of archival documents, artworks, and sonic contributions centered around Hidden Noise, https://hiddennoise.org, a series of Fluxus-related organ concerts initiated in 2018 by Cory Arcangel and Hampus Lindwall, with the goal of generating new repertoire for the pipe organ.

The Hidden Noise concert in 2018 included Phill Niblock’s Nagro (Organ), composed in 2007.

The exhibition, curated by Vittoria Bonifati, will include a print of a Phill Niblock photograph from the LIGHT PATTERNS series (1985 – 1992), the same photo excerpted on the cover of the Music for Organ CD (https://phillniblock-mm.bandcamp.com/album/music-for-organ). Many thanks to Cedric D’Hondt and Mathieu Copeland for helping prepare the image to be printed.
